Minneapolis Day Two

Day Two, Sunday, August 7, we slept in and enjoyed breakfast at the hotel. Then to the Mall of America to catch the Light Rail to Target Field. We had to take our traditional pictures on the train.

Got off at Target Field and met Dan, our ticket broker, at 6th and 1st Avenue. He had tickets for us! We were afraid it would be standing room only again, but Dan assured us they were good seats.

On our way to the main gate, we went past the new Huberts and just had to stop in!We had a drink at the bar. It was a big, beautiful place. Not anything like the "other" Huberts!

The nice gentleman behind us in line took our picture. Thank you!

Into Target Field and took a picture of Bernie and Becca near the gift shop.

We met up with Becca's friend Kelli and her dad Wayne. Kelli is the gal who took Becca to the opening game because her Dad couldn't go. They came to Minneapolis on Thursday and are staying through the White Sox series. Visited with them and then found our seats by way of the hot dog stand!

Our seats were good but a little high up over the field. Becca kind of had a tough time looking down. First row at least!

We had a great view of the game.

This is a new tower this year at the field. It showed some really fun things during the game.

Got to watch my favorite player, Joe Mauer, play. He has been on the disabled list a lot this year.

So happy to be here!

We were hoping Jim Thome would have one of his famous home runs but we didn't get to see one. The Twins ended up losing to the White Sox 7-0.

We saw the Statue of Liberty and Mickey Mouse that the Colorado Rockies got from their All Star Games in New York and Anaheim and looked all over until we found them at Target Field.

On our way out we stopped and watched the announcers doing the closing for the game. Didn't realize they were out in the wide open!

Walked around downtown and found the Comfort Suites that Kelly and Becca stayed at when they came up for the opening game. Caught the Light Rail back to the Mall of America and then had a wonderful supper at The Outback. Back to the room and passed out from our busy day! Gotta rest up for a busy Mall of America day tomorrow!
