Storm!

On our way to Delmont on July 23 for a weekend of Pickle Packin', we ran into a storm in the Mitchell area. We had just passed Mitchell, SD, and called Joel to see how things were in Delmont. He requested we turn around and seek cover in Mitchell. Said it was looking bad in the Delmont area. We luckily found a place to turn our new, huge camper around and parked really close to the Mall building on the edge of Mitchell. We weren't in Blarney's Bar and Grill long before the storm hit Mitchell. We went into the center court, by a bunch of windows (dumb, huh?) and watched the storm. It was something else! Tons of wind, rain and fear! Becca eased our fear by enjoying the little displays outside the stores.

The sky was amazing after the storm. There were tornados reported in the area, but we luckily did not see any.

Becca went out to check it all out.

The clouds were something else!

We finally felt the weather settled down and we got word from Joel that things appeared to be clearing up. Reese was across the interstate at the truck stop, so he headed to Delmont and called us that there was a tree down across the road, but only on 1/2 of it. He figured we could get around it and gave us the OK to head out. Steph & Josh, meanwhile, had turned back and just beat the storm back to Harrisburg. So they were safe at home and going to start out again early in the morning.
Here are a couple of videos I took:
