Rhonda Mairose (sorry, couldn't find a picture of my beautiful Rhonda)
I have known Rhonda “slightly” for a very long time, because we were both “lifers” at the VA, she in Radiology and I in various clerical positions. I got to know her very well when I did a 2 year stint in Radiology. It was not the best place I worked, and realized quickly it was not a good match for me. But Rhonda was my bright spot while I was working there. I loved the job – answering the phone, scheduling procedures, pulling x-rays for staff and learning lots about Radiology. There were struggles with staff getting along and I was lucky enough to be out front in the reception area and could avoid those. But Rhonda became my good friend because she would come out of the back and help me when needed and was kind and thoughtful. We clicked quite quickly. Rhonda has had to retire due to health reasons, but we have maintained our friendship. She once invited me over to the condo for lunch and a poolside chat and it was a wonderful afternoon. Now we meet occasionally with Darlene for supper outings and I love catching up with her. Rhonda is one of those special friends who crosses your path and I treasure her friendship!
