Wednesday, December 19, Steph brought the two kids to the VA for me to show off to my co-workers. They won over everyone we saw! No surprise! Then we came back to our house and Steph and Josh went to the 18th Amendment to celebrate Steph's latest promotion. They even called Becca to join them and help Steph with her 2-fers of beer. Bernie had a retirement party to go to but came home to a very happy Hadley when she saw him. Nothing better then the excitement of a little girl rushing into your arms when you get home, yelling "Papa"! Steph and Josh decided to leave Steph's car here and came back on Thursday night to pick it up. Hadley helped Steph get Corbin out of his car seat. She is such a good big sister!
We decided to have HyVee chinese for dinner. I picked up Bernie at the pick up point and he was very ill with a bad cold. Got supper and came home. He had a new football for Hadley to take home. He took some cold medication and went straight to bed. Hadley showed her great concern all evening, saying "Papa sick" and "Papa nap" over and over. She is such a Papa's girl! She had Corbin hold her football for her while we ate supper!
We really did not now what to expect from Hadley when she became a big sister, but she has surprised us on how much she loves her little brother! She is constantly going to him and kissing him and touching him. On Wednesday night when she got tired and wanted to go home, she got her shoes and jacket and got them on. Then she came over to me and pointed at Corbin and then at his car seat. She wanted me to put him in so she could take him home! I let her help me carry him over to his seat and she made sure he was safely tucked in his seat and covered and then she was ready to go home. She did not want to leave him at our house. So cute!
