Reveal Party for Grandbaby #2 at Big Sioux

On Thursday, July 12, Steph and Josh had their "revealing" ultrasound where they found out if they were having a boy or girl.  They wanted to have a Reveal Party, but we were camping at Big Sioux that weekend and they knew they couldn't keep the secret.  Simple problem to solve - move the Reveal Party to the campground!  We gathered at Big Sioux on Friday, July 13, at the camper.  Hadley got her hands dirty.  Bernie put some water in his washing pan for her to clean her hands.

 Val came out to join us for the party.  Adam had to work late and came later.

 Bernie modified his Grandpa hat with some masking tape!

 Hadley is prepared for the big reveal.  Duct tape is so useful!

 Steph and Josh brought beautiful cupcakes.  We can't wait!  So, we did what was necessary and should be done more often - we ate dessert first!!

 Saturday, July 14, another very hot summer day. We spent as much time as we could outside, but slipped into the cool, air conditioned camper often to cool down.  The temperatures this summer have been very hot and it has been very dry with no rain at all.

 Hadley is just enjoying being camping.  Doesn't matter to her what the temperature is!

 We used the sprayer to cool down and it really helped.

 For supper we wanted to grill food around the campfire.  We all sat back very far from the hot fire to watch the meat cook.

 Josh was in charge of grilling again.

 He did a good job - look at those great steaks!  We tried corn on the cob on the campfire and it was delicious.

Sunday, July 15, Bernie headed to Watertown for an Ideker Cousin get together.  It was just too hot of a day to stay at the campground.  Josh stayed home to work around the house.  Steph, Becca, Hadley and I decided it was a good day to shop in air conditioned comfort.  We did a little shopping and then picked up pizza at Little Caesars and went to our house to eat it.  Afterwards, Steph & Hadley headed home, Becca hit the basement and I went back to the camper to sit in air conditioning until Bernie came back.  We stayed overnight and then early Monday morning packed up and went home.  It was an exciting weekend to find out Grandbaby #2 will be a boy!
