Washington DC Day One - June 2

Our big trip to Washington DC is here!  Bless her heart, Becca has volunteered to take care of Hadley for us while we are gone after Josh's Parents were no longer able to take her.  Steph & Josh invited us to their house for a wonderful cinnamon roll breakfast.  Hadley was soon up and we said our sad goodbyes.  Becca looked a little nervous, but we knew she would do very well.
We drove to Omaha to catch our plane.  We are all so excited!

After a stopover in Memphis, Tennessee, we arrived in Washington DC.  The Ronald Reagan Airport is right on the metro line.  We found our way and got our tickets to ride.
Rode the metro to our hotel, the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel.

Our hotel is awesome (good job Josh!) and after we checked in, we walked "downtown" which is just at the bottom of the hill of our hotel.  There is about 2 blocks of businesses including restaurtants, stores and other things.  We found a Noodles and Company for our supper.
Food at Noodles & Company was great and the service was really nice.
Walked around and found a little grocery store and a CVS Pharmacy.  Got beer and breakfast items for our refrigerator in our room.   Then back to our pretty room.  Bernie and I are happy - we have our Kindles with us and are so happy to be reading in Washington DC!
Josh has his Popular Mechanics magazine.  Behind the camera is Steph and her book is resting on the bedside table.
A little reading before lights out.  We are all excited to start our vacation!
