Busy Weekend

On Friday night, I usually get so excited because it feels like I have a whole lot of weekend ahead of me. But then suddenly it is Sunday night and I am wondering where the weekend went!

My Friday night started out wonderful - Torsk and Meatball Feed at the Nordic Hall. I have always wanted to go and see what this was like, but never had a chance. My friend Cherie Hopper told me they go every year and she invited me to join them. Bernie wasn't interested, so I went with Cherie, her husband Dean and another friend, also named Connie. The food was awesome! Boiled torsk with drawn butter, meatballs in brown sauce, boiled potatoes, coleslaw, biscuits, and lefse. It is family style and they just kept bringing all the food you want until you tell them to stop. I tried one meatball, but then filled up on the great torsk. Was quite full when I left. Bought some lefse and Becca enjoyed eating some. Becca came home right after I got home on Friday night. It is now spring break, so we get to enjoy having her home for a week. Travis came over and they went to Boston's for supper. Then came back and visited awhile and then took off and saw Shutter Island. Becca said it was very good. Bernie and I watched a movie, The Visitor. We signed up for Netflix and are just getting our first few movies.

Saturday brought Steph over to spend the day scrapbooking. During Becca's break in between working Tan World and American Eagle, we joined her upstairs to chat. Steph colored a picture in the coloring book Bernie got from them and used the dollar store crayons that came with it.

Bernie spent some time outside shifting snow around and then came downstairs with us. He is still getting his new laptop set up and so he sat with both new and old to work on them.We had two new cartridges to get to know. Steph used one and made this cute cake.Josh came to join us for a nice lasagne supper. After he left, Steph, Bernie and I watched a movie, The Invention of Lying. Not a very good movie and we gave it a "2" on Netflix.
On Sunday, Bernie and I had decided we would go to a movie. This was one of his New Years Resolution to see a movie more often in the theater. Well, Becca didn't have to work and wanted to do family time, so we invited her to join us. Steph found out and hinted she wanted to go. And of course we can't do something without Josh, so he joined us too. We went to Avatar at Carmike and enjoyed the 3D version. We looked so cute in our 3D glasses!

It was a great movie and we all liked it. We were not prepared for how long it was. Started at 12:45 and we were leaving the theater at 3:43. Worth it! Steph came home with us and played Uno attack with Bernie & Becca while I made BBQs. Josh came over and joined us for supper. Steph & Josh headed home and Becca's friend Danielle came by. They headed to Brandon to Becca's friend Kaylani's house. Becca and Kaylani are taking Abby to the Mall of America tomorrow because Abby has never been there. Hope they have a great time. Bernie and I are now watching episodes of 24. Relax a little in front of the TV and to bed to recharge for another busy work week. But the weekend was so good we will make it through the week! Becca will be home on break and that makes it even better.
