Out With The Old, In With The New!

Bernie and I don't believe in new appliances unless the old one is broken.  I have had this Kitchen Aid dishwasher since we moved into the house 30 years ago.  We took out a cabinet and put this beast in.  Well, it has been my least favorite applicance of all the appliances we have had.  It never cleaned well and was REALLY noisy.  It FINALLY started to not empty of water.  I told Bernie I was not going to get it fixed (only have had one service call on this beast in 30 years) and wanted it replaced with a new one.  He totally agreed.  I know we will never get another one as reliable, but time for a change.  New year, right?

 We went to Karl's and picked out a new one.  When we bought the Kitchen Aid, we bought the top model.  Bernie found the paperwork on our old Kitchen Aid and we paid about the same for our new Whirlpool!  We went middle of the road on this baby, but Brad told us it is the most popular model.  We went to Brad, through Josh, because he has been working with them on their applicances for their new house.  Nice guy and he gave us contractor's price.  And we had it installed on January 3 by them, rather than try to do it ourselves.

Couldn't wait to use it and first time I was afraid it wasn't working - it was so quiet!  Now we will see if we can get another 30 years out of this one.........
