Darlene Turns 70

My friend Darlene Poppenga, who is a nurse at the VA, turned 70 on August 11. Her co-workers tried to surprise her with a party, but of course she found out! We had lots of fun anyway. We made everyone that rode on the party bus a badge like above.

Elvis (Derek Schrader) joined us for the party! Elvis was so great!

We boarded the party bus and rode to the new Grand Falls Casino in Iowa. We had a great time visiting, gambling and eating an awesome buffet. We all had a piece of this beautiful guitar cake.

Darlene was nervous about her party because she does not like to be the center of attention, but she admitted later that she had a great time!
