The Bus Trip That Didn't Happen.......

Saturday, November 13th, was supposed to be our annual shopping bus trip. This year we were excited because we were going to Medford and the Mall of America. We got a little nervous when we heard the weather forecast of snow in Minneapolis, but the email from the organizers said we were going. So I got our lunches packed.

We got on the bus at 6:45AM and off we go.

After we got into Minnesota, the snow started. Our bus driver had warned us that if he felt it was no longer safe to go on, he would turn around. He pulled off the Worthington exit and by now it is really snowing. He had gotten word that it was much worse ahead. We were not about to waste this day when we were really geared up to go shopping. Back to Sioux Falls and we spent the day leisurely spending our money at home. We ate our lunches in the Mall.

We were disappointed we didn't make it to Minneapolis, but when we heard 60,000 people were out of electricity and there were hundreds of accidents, we were glad we were safe. There is always next year!!
