New Moon

As you all know, I am a huge Twilight Series Fan. I admit it and I know I am not alone with all the young Teens. I have seen postings of other 50 somethings who also are. Anyway, we had a Twilight Party when the first video came out. I was a little reluctant to see the video because the books were so good, but Steph & her friend JJ talked me into it and the video WAS good. So I once again headed to Target Saturday at 8AM to get New Moon, the second book/movie in the series, as the employees were stacking it on the shelf. I was one of 12 people waiting at the door to get in when they opened. I had declined to go to Walmart at Midnight, afraid to fight the crowd of teenagers with tired and cranky Moms, and elected instead to fight the crowd at 8AM when the Moms would be better rested to bring in their teenagers. Anyway, I got my copy without injury and we decided to have a Video Party at Steph & Josh's. Bernie and Josh enjoyed the first video party and wanted to join us in watching the new one.

Steph & Josh had a major mishap at their house this week. Bernie and I got a new freezer and gave them our old, 27 year old freezer, hoping they could get a few years out of it. Well, not to be true (see Steph's blog for details) and Bernie and I feel bad about what happened. Steph & Josh have forgiven us and we decided to have supper before the video. We were at Steph & Josh's last Thursday night to set up the grill (Bernie helped, I made the taco supper). That was the fateful night of "The Freezer Incident". Josh went through all the meat in the freezer, tossing what was bad and keeping the rest back. He and I went through what had thawed and tossed a few more packages that we just felt were not good. And then Josh grilled the thawed meat on the new grill for our supper and froze what we didn't eat. There was a pound of hamberger, two chicken breast and about 8-10 steaks. We polished off two chicken breasts and two steaks and the rest Josh will freeze and eat at leisure. Grill worked great and as you can see, the grill captains were hard at work. After a nice supper, we settled into the huge couch and enjoyed the movie.Josh admitted he had cheated and watched the video on line, but the rest of us were in for a nice surprise. The video was once again good. Of course, Steph & I agree the book is much better and they left a lot out. I think each book could be an 8 hour movie! We paused the movie occasionally to give Bernie updated details. Now can't wait for Eclipse, the third book in the series, to come out on video!

I just love our traditions! Two down, two to go.
