Christmas Blizzard

The news media started talking about the "Christmas Blizzard" a week before Christmas. So when it arrived, it was no surprise to us. We had all hoped it would not happen, but darn, the weather people were right. So our Christmas plans of Ideker Get Together at Rick's and Hall Get Together at Grandma Hall's were all postponed. So we decided to have our Little Ideker/Hughes Get Together on Christmas Eve. While the snow was piling up outside, we partied inside. Steph & Josh came over around 12N. Josh had lunch and napped. Steph the rest of us went downstairs. We scrapbooked, played bingo and relaxed. Josh went to work at the Lab and when he got back, we had a nice supper of Chili (while Steph ate turkey sandwiches). Then on to the gifts. Bernie had outdone himself this year with buying gift. The tree was really full. He had wrapped them all, too. We had a lot of fun opening gifts. We played out new Farkle game and then some cards. Went downstairs to relax watching Becca's new DVD's of "OC" (oh no, hooked on another seasons DVD) while Josh ate more Chili. Then Steph & Josh headed home. Unfortunately, they found out how different the weather can be outside the city limits. They did fine until they got to the corner to turn down their street, Perry, when the got stuck. The neighbor tried to help them get out, but it didn't work. So they borrowed warmer clothes from him and trucked about 3 blocks to their house. Next day Josh had to shovel out the car and the street and get the car home.
