First Day of Minneapolis Vacation

Had an awesome start to our Minneapolis Vacation. Left Sioux Falls at 7AM and enjoyed a nice breakfast at Hardees in Worthington. Made a stop at Medford Mall and Becca and I had good luck finding things. Headed into the Cities and our first stop was Hooters for deep fried pickles for Becca. She has been craving them so much! A quick stop at Rocky Mountain Candy Company for a treat. Becca wanted to try a chocolate covered Twinkie. Checked into our usual hotel - Comfort Inn, Bloomington, and got into our Twins garb. Back to the Mall of America to catch the Metro Transit to the Metrodome. A nice lady took our picture on the train. Found Dan, the Man, and got our tickets for the 17th row, section 121, right along 1st base line. Great seats again. Had once last beer at Hubert's, as when the stadium moves to the outdoor area, it will be about 6 blocks from the Metrodome and we won't be able to be at Huberts. :( As we walked into the Metrodome, Alekendra (sp?) stopped us and asked Becca if she played softball/baseball. Becca looked like a player. She said no, but Alekendra asked her if she wanted to be in a promotion. She explained the promotion and thankfully Becca said yes. How could she turn down a change to be on the pitcher's mound at the Twins stadium???? We quickly found our seats and Bernie and Becca headed down to get ready for the event. Only one person could go with Becca, so I stayed in our seats to film the event. What a great time!! They got on the field and Bernie took some great pictures with my little camera. I kept my big one and took shots and filmed the event. See the pictures here. Becca was nervous but did an awesome job! She was on the pitcher's mound at Twin's Stadium in the Metrodome!! Something she will always remember. It was worth it. Even through she didn’t win, she got a $50 gift card to Subway. Will feed a poor college girl quite a few sandwiches! Twin's game was not very good, and we left after the 7th inning, but we had a blast and will talk about this for years to come!!
