It Is Becoming Real! (5/9/13)

It is starting to become real that I am retiring. Today, the envelopes came out, in VA Tradition, letting fellow employees contribute towards a retirement gift. Wow, this time it is me!

Never a Dull Moment..... (5/4/13)

My Mother-in-law warned me. She said life with Bernie would never be dull. She told me he could make an adventure out of any event. How true that became in our married life! Bernie wanted to take the parts of the old shed to the dump and invited me along. Since I had never been to the dump, I decided to go along! Wow, that is one organized place! We pulled up to a special place to dump the pieces.

It seems like every possible type of things you can dump have their own special place to be taken.

It was quite an adventure and I was glad I went - he bought me a cappuccino on our way home! Thank you Bernie for so many adventures in our relationship!

Administrative Professional's Day

Celebrated my last Administrative Professional's Day at the VA! Got these flowers from my friend Darlene Poppenga, an LPN on our floor.

And the 4N Nurses gave me this wonderful chocolate.

Seems strange that this was my last one after so many years, but it is a good feeling!

Happy Anniversary! (5/2/13)

Bernie and I celebrated our 32nd Anniversary on May 2nd. We have always gone to Minerva's to celebrate but decided to break out of our routine and try Carnival Brazillian. It was awesome and may change our tradition!

These little wooden spools work well. Put the green side up when you want more food and red up when you don't. When you change it to green you have guys coming over with wonderful meat to eat!

My favorite was the grilled pineapple. I couldn't get enough of it!

We polished off this bottle of wine in celebration.

Because it was our anniversary, our waitress (who was fantastic by the way) gave us this wonderful dessert.

We got this cute card on our phones from the Hughes'. How nice!

It was a wonderful Anniversary Day!

A New Shed for Bernie (5/2/13)

When we bought our house, this storage shed was in the backyard. Bernie had the girls paint it at one time, but it is worn out. There are holes in the tin and water leaks in. Our belongings in the shed get wet and worn. Time for a new one! Bernie chose one a Menards and hired his brothers to put it up for him. Here is the shed before we went to work......

And when we came home, it is gone!

Bernie can't wait to have his new shed. His brothers will be working on it for him!

Snow??? It's May 1st!!

This has been a crazy spring. The ice storm of the century earlier in April. And now snow on May 1st! Our shed in the back yard.

And my favorite boulevard road on the way to work. Sheesh!!

At least it won't last!

Happy Birthday Bernie! (4/28/13)

For once, we were able to celebrate a birthday before the actual day! We went out to eat at Starz for Bernie's April 30th birthday on April 28! We did lunch on this Sunday and the food was very good.
